Why we need you
Our Hub operations are twofold – one area focuses on providing essential items to Ukrainian guests arriving in the UK whilst the other focuses on humanitarian relief bound for the families of Ukrainians who remain in Ukraine.
We need help with:
Hub operations – Ukrainian guest provisions
Sorting, hanging and organising clothes
Tidying, folding and rehanging clothes after visits from our Ukrainian guests
Team leaders to assist with health and safety briefings and to guide volunteers
Hub operations – Humanitarian aid to Ukraine
Sorting, packing and weighing items under supervision
Loading items into our articulated truck prior to it departing to Ukraine
Business operations
Research volunteers for fundraising events and other projects
Help with administrative and business tasks
Help with IT and managing our social media platforms
What you will be doing
You will be invited to undertake work outlined above, depending on your strengths.

Ability to do physical sorting of clothes and other items
Able to work independently and in a team
Enjoy meeting people and good people skills
Hub operations Humanitarian
Physically able to safely lift boxes for packing and loading
Able to work in a team

What we ask of you
All volunteers are expected to adhere to our code of conduct, privacy policy, safeguarding and other policies and guidance.
Volunteers will need to fill in our volunteer form
Volunteers will be asked to sign in on arrival and undertake a health and safety briefing from one of the team
On signing in you will be issued with a lanyard indicating you are a volunteer
Duke of Edinburgh Award volunteering opportunities
We welcome Duke of Edinburgh volunteers to our Hub, and to date have had eight youngsters complete volunteering work here as part of their programme. Potential DofE volunteers work at all times with our dedicated Duke of Edinburgh leads. To apply to volunteer with us as part of the DofE programme, we require written consent from parents.
Health and Safety Statement
You will receive a health and safety briefing on signing in to the Hub
You will work in teams under a dedicated Team Leader
When you fill in the Volunteer application form this will include asking you about any issues around your health. We need to be aware of this so that we can mitigate any risk. We may have a conversation with you regarding any adjustments you may need
Safeguarding
All volunteers must adhere to our Safeguarding Policy which is emailed to you on joining us as a volunteer

As we take safeguarding very seriously, all volunteers are required to undertake a DBS check, which we will pay for
Any volunteers under the age of 18 must have a letter of consent from parent or guardian, as well as all Duke of Edinburgh volunteers
